Beast II arrives

This year it was for whatever reason Mitsubishi Pajero year.  Whenever I found suitable off-road it was Pajero. Different years, different countries, in different stages of decomposition, some with wooden steering wheels, but all Pajeros.  And the final winner is……

My friend found it just few kilometers from my home town.  All important stuff is functional except airconditioning. But who needs aircon in January?  Right?  As an extra, it comes with bit of rust round wheel arches and exhaust is bit noisier then it should be. The original radio with cassete player (are you old enough to remember those?) is long gone, so it does not stand in the way of CB radio.  Having the huge sunroof we will have to fit all our stuff inside the car.  It would be a sin to block it with the roof rack.    Can’t wait for the first test drive.

Introduction

Hi, I’m Milos, a colleague of Michal, and the 3rd member of Team Desert Patrol.

This will be my first journey to Africa. Ready to join the team in rally adventure through African landscapes and tough terrains.
Famous driving experience started in Zastava 750 (so called Fica) continued in Yugo 45 and Yugo Florida. Real driving and navigation test is about to begin with a little help of two rally veterans (Michal and Andras).Looking forward to meet African people and their culture.

And there was light

The extra headlights are almost ready (the cabling is still not final as you can imagine from the picture) and they are damn bright! I had to install a separate cable from the battery and an extra 30 amps relay to make them work, they need a lot of power.
