The reflectors of Baby Beast’s headlights are clouded from the dust of 20 years and the light is faint. Too faint to find the track in African nights.
I bought four extra headlamps on ebay and started to make an adaptor to mount them on the radiator grill. It is made of a 3mm thick aluminum sheet, which was surprisingly easy to cut with a jigsaw.
I’m glad I did not have to buy a new CB radio, I still have the one we used in 2011. I wanted to sell it in Bamako, but couldn’t convince the potential buyers that CB is a standard and that they could talk to any other CB radio. They were all asking for “the other one” to talk to.
My last project was to install the 30 years old Stalker IX in Baby Beast. I couldn’t find a place on or under the dashboard, so it ended up under the roof, attached with ultra strong 300kg/cm² glue. Let’s see how long it will bear the 2 kilograms of the radio.
Starting from now, Baby Beast proudly informs all neighbors and passersby about its honorable destiny. Three yellow stickers on both sides and on the tailgate point to our website.
