Beast II goes off-road

It is becoming a tradition that my first morning start of the beast fails. This time it was dead battery.  So one more trip to the shop and we can start! My biggest worry was if the bigger tires would cause any problems  off road. To at least partially simulate the load in the rally, I loaded the car with my  wife and kids and we all went on.  The car behaved very well, although I did not push it too much.

The missing bit of the front bumper bar is result of our efforts to fit the big wheels. It will be fixed in couple of days together with the noisy exhaust pipe.

Baby Beast is getting ready

The roof rack and the fixtures for sandplates and the second spare wheel are ready. The sandplates and the spare wheel are lashed down to metal rings directly bolted to the hardtop. Compared to a second roof rack this solution significantly reduces the air drag and will increase the top speed of Baby Beast. Without anything on the roof it was 130km/h 🙂

Sponsors!!!

Good news of the day: one of the pharmaceutical companies we have been in contact with has confirmed it will sponsor our team. The donations for our day-care project are growing too, thanks to all of you for your contribution.
