The front axle suffered a lot from the wet and muddy races of the year, to be on the safe side I decided to overhaul it before we start 17000km trip to Bamako and back. It was a good idea, there was more water inside than grease…
After sandblasting the axle looks like new now, but there is still a lot to do. I hope to get the car back by beginning of January.
The first items we ordered for the irrigation system have arrived a few days ago: the solar panels and the pump. The next step is to design and to weld a rack for the panels.
In addition to our long-established medicine project for the benefit of Mali Health’s clinic in Sikoro, we will deliver and install an irrigation system in the village of Mambourke in North-Western Mali this time.
The irrigation system costs more than EUR 4,000.-, donations are highly appreciated. As usual, we are giving away small photo books as thank-you to everybody donating at lease EUR 50,-. You can donate via PayPal to team@desertpatrol.org or by direct transfer to our charity account BIC: BYLADEM1001, IBAN: DE15 1203 0000 1011 2013 89, account holder: Andras Kalmar.
Thank you very much for your help!
